Dr. Bettina Boohene-Andah

Bio

Dr. Bettina Boohene-Andah is a qualified Physician and Clinical Nutritionist who has practiced medicine since 1999. Over the years, she has worked at several leading medical institutions including the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, the Akai House Clinic all located in Accra, Ghana. In 2009, she established the Brainwave Consult Ltd, which comprised a clinic, nutrition centre and a diagnostic facility where she served as its Chief Medical Officer.

She is currently the Medical Director for Kamili Health, a health consulting firm.

In 2004 she was appointed Physician to H.E. John A. Kuffour, the former President of Ghana where she was the head of the Presidential Medical team for five years.

Beyond her medical and leadership roles, she contributes to medical education as a guest lecturer for the Postgraduate Family Health Course with the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. She is also a highly sought-after public speaker, having delivered keynote addresses and featured on global platforms such as the BBC 100 Women’s Series, Young African Women Congress (YAWC), Thought Leadership Breakfast Meeting, and Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) events, among others.

In 2014, Dr. Boohene-Andah catalogued her experiences as the first ever female Physician to a Head of State in a book titled “The President’s Physician. This book sold over 5000 copies worldwide.

She is the founder of MENFYD Foundation, an institution which seeks to empower the youth in Africa with particular emphasis on females.
